Learning by doing

In the scouts, you learn by doing—testing things yourself and growing through practical experiences together with others.

Scout Life for youth and adults

We have age-appropriate groups for our scouts. As an adult, you can get involved as a leader, or help out as a parent.

Scout

You can become a scout from the age of 8. The members in the group for our oldest scouts are 15 years and older.

The content of each group is adapted to the scouts' age to make scout life safe, fun and exciting for all our scouts.

Scout Leader

As an adult, you can make a real difference as a scout leader. You will coach the scouts and create a safe environment that encourages them to challenge themselves and grow. All our scout leaders are required to complete the Safe Meetings (Trygga Möten) training.

After completing the Safe Meetings course, you can continue your training if you wish. We highly recommend taking the Leading Scouting (Leda Scouting) course. You can read more about our training programs at Leadership Island (Ledarskapsön).

Parent

As a parent, you play an important part in HSS. It is thanks to committed adults that we are able to provide children with all the experiences and opportunities that scouting offers. You don't need any prior experience with scouting – the most important thing is your willingness to help out.
